Zur Korrektur
Under a consumer society you understand a society, that is characterized by industrial mass production of short-life disposable products (Wegwerfprodukte). And a society which is overflowed with advertisements. You can see this term is a consequence of the modern lifestyle, that has started to develop after the First World war and in particular distinct form after the Second World war.
In my opinion this trend lead to a alienation of interhuman relationship and the opposite of a economical handing with resources.
Materialism is a philosophy outlook (?) that every processes and phenomena on the world refer to material and whose (?) legitimacy.
